This was first painted over a period of 2 or 3 years when SAWG came to Bisbee for paint-outs. When I was in high school, my friends and
I used to walk through Woolworths, and down Main Street after school to catch the bus home, and we had sodas from a real fountain. When I started this painting,
I sat outside the wall of the Café which is now in the Old Phelp’s Dodge Mercantile Building. Several dogs got in fights with each other behind me, one even peed on my back pack and many flies buzzed around. I finally finished it in my studio from digital photos.
It was voted into the SAWG calendar a few years ago.
